If you want to develop your expertise in the field of fire safety management and are aiming for a senior role in the fire industry after graduation, then our Fire Safety (Management) top-up degree is ideal.

Fire safety management is concerned with minimising the fire risk to life, property, business continuity and the environment throughout the life of a building.

This course emphasises the development of management skills for fire safety as it relates to the context of the built environment. You will play a role in the management and leadership of teams involved in the provision of safe working environment and in the management of fire safety provision in organisations. 

You’ll be taught by research active staff from the fields of fire safety engineering as well as fire professionals with many years of experience.

Future Careers

Graduates from Fire Safety (Management) have entered leading fire engineering consulting firms such as, Buro Happold, ARUP, Warrington Exova and various Fire and Rescue Services around the UK and internationally. 

Applicants who are interested in taught postgraduate studies will be able to continue on MSc Fire Safety Engineering  or MSc Fire and Rescue Service Management.

Applicants who are interested in research will be able to continue MPhil/PhD studies with the Centre in Fire and Hazards in areas of fire and explosion safety engineering, fire modelling, computational fluid dynamics and others.
