Open Day FAQs

It's never too early to start thinking about your options. Open Days, virtual events and workshops take place throughout the year so it is always worth checking event listings. Most Open Days are held between June and November. We have a Preston Open Day in October and November, so there is plenty of opportunity to visit us.

You can go to as many university Open Days as you like. Usually, people will visit around four or five because you can only apply for up to five universities on UCAS. But if you want to go to as many as possible, or if you only want to visit one or two universities, then that is absolutely fine too.

Most people who attend an Open Day bring someone with them. This can be parents, friends or other family. It's nice to have company on your visit and to have some support - deciding which university to go to is a big decision. Everything at our Open Days is set up for you and your guests. This means they can attend subject talks, tasters sessions and access all the fun things with you throughout the day.

Don't worry if you are attending alone though - there are many people who attend without company. We will be on hand to help you throughout the day and you'll feel supported every step of the way.

Open Days are a really good opportunity for you to get a feel for the place you might be studying at. After all, you'll be spending a lot of time there so you need to make sure you like it.

You might not know what subject you want to study and an Open Day can help you decide this. It is also a chance to speak to tutors and get a taste of the classes you might have. And, you can speak to real students and find out what life is really like at university.

Visit our Open Day frequently asked questions page. You can also contact us directly by emailing Course Enquiries or calling +44 (0) 1772 892400.
