Alumni, alumnus (masculine, plural alumni) or alumna (feminine, plural alumnae) is a former student or pupil of a school, college, or university of which they've graduated or received an exit award.
As a graduate of the University, you can access the library and borrow up to four books free of charge. To gain access you'll need to visit the library with two forms of ID, one of which should be a photo and the other should show your address. You'll then be issued a library card which you can use to swipe in and out of the library. Please note, this does not allow you to use electronic resources such as online journals, as they are not licensed for alumni use. You can use your own device on-site and gain access to our public wi-fi.
To become a member of the sports centre you'll first need to join the library (see above FAQ). You'll then need to take your card to Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre, where your membership will be processed. You'll need to take a payment method with you. The cost is £12.50 per month (minimum three months) or £130 per year (paid upfront).
As an alumnus of the University, you're entitled to full lifelong access to our careers service. To access our online careers platforms, complete the alumni update form and tick the careers box.
You can buy a duplicate certificate or transcript by visiting our online shop. We can issue replacement certificates, statements of achievement and attendance, replacement transcripts and DOATAP documents. Please note, the alumni team can't supply any of this documentation. If you have a specific query please email the Awards Office.
Details about your graduation will get sent to you once your results are processed and the ceremonies scheduled. Please make sure we have your up to date contact details, including your personal email address, as your UCLan email will be closed once you've finished your studies. Also check out our upcoming graduation events.
For information about postgraduate, CPD and research study, see our postgraduate study page. As a graduate of UCLan, you may be entitled to a 20% Alumni Loyalty Discount.
Please email the Alumni Team to see if we can help you get in touch with your former classmates. We love helping people to reconnect. You can search for current academic staff via our website.
We don't currently offer a formal mentoring scheme but you can volunteer to help our students. You could offer talks, work placements, job opportunities and more. Email the Alumni Team to see how you can help.
