Advanced Restorative & Periodontal Practice

3 Years
September 2022
Campus Taught

Our MSc in Advanced Restorative and Periodontal Practice is ideal for busy dental hygienists and therapists seeking to enhance their skills and knowledge whilst also continuing their professional practice.

The course is delivered via blended learning, using a combination of online delivery, face-to-face learning and practical sessions at an approved regional training centre. Led by experienced clinicians and educators, it focuses on contemporary practice and evidence-based principles and systems. This approach ensures an optimal outcome for both patient and practitioner.

On completion, you’ll be ready to provide safe and appropriate periodontal and restorative treatment as part of your clinical practice.

Why study with us

  • Learn from a highly-regarded course team led by a GDC Specialist registrant and Hon. Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. Practical sessions are led by specialists, consultants and experienced clinicians with a proven track record in primary practice environments.
  • You’ll work in modern facilities and benefit from the knowledge of highly-experienced, non-clinical staff who provide some of the academic and scientific underpinning to your clinical learning.
  • The University works in conjunction with governing dental bodies, ensuring that the curriculum facilitates the development of transferable skills, which you can embed in your clinical practice.

What you'll do

  • Benefit from the School of Dentistry’s focus on Continuing Professional Development, allowing you to further your skills and education in your chosen area of interest whilst maintaining your clinical practice.
  • Gain the academic skills needed to critically appraise published work within dental and oral health related journals, and to understand how dental research is carried out.
  • Take advantage of our small group sizes. Typically no larger than 12, the groups provide an informal and supportive learning environment that ensures your learning needs are being met.
