What you'll do

  • Study renewable energy technologies and innovative approaches to meet the challenges of climate change, such as novel carbon capture and hydrogen use.
  • Engage in live projects with industry partners in our Engineering Innovation Centre. Here you'll be able to put your knowledge of technical design, power generation and project management to the test.
  • Further advance your career prospects through an optional 48-week industry placement between Year 2 and Year 3.

Gain real work experience through industrial placements

You can take a one-year industrial placement during your studies to increase your employability. Most placements are UK-based, but opportunities exist for global placements.

Our Engineering Innovation Centre provides you with state-of-the-art production, design and research facilities. Giving you the tools and skills you need to pursue an engineering career in the 21st century. 

Academic expertise

Our academic team have extensive experience and knowledge in the energy sector. This knowledge extends across the various fields of renewable and nuclear energy, carbon capture & storage, carbon assessment and energy management. You'll be taught by a dedicated academic team with up to date engineering and industry knowledge.

We will consider your educational achievements, predicted grades, work experience and personal statement. If you don't meet the grades for your chosen course, we will consider you for other programmes.

  • UCAS: 104 points at A2 including grade C in A-Level Maths and Physics or STEM
  • BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM in Engineering including Merit in Maths units. Please see UCAS for specific unit requirements
  • BTEC Diploma: D*D - D*D* in Engineering including Maths units. Please see UCAS for specific unit requirements
  • Pass Access Course: 104 points including 15 level 3 credits in Maths and Physics or STEM at Merit
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass with 104 points from Higher Level subjects including Higher Level 5 Maths and Physics or STEM
  • T Level: M including Maths and Physics. Please see UCAS for a list of the T Levels we can accept
  • IELTS: 6.0 with no component lower than 5.5
  • GCSEs: 5 at grade C/4 including Maths and English or equivalent
