Engineering graduate talks about how determined he was to study degree despite A Level results

Despite not achieving the A-Level grades he wanted, Mohammed Seth secured a place on our Energy Engineering course through the Clearing process.

After graduation, Mohammed fulfilled a 12-month graduate placement at Jaguar Land Rover where he worked in the launch team of the new Range Rover Evoque doing project management. He was given the responsibility to organise and partake in the test drives of the unlaunched vehicle and felt very privileged to have been one of the first people in the world to sit in the car.

Moving on, Mohammed completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in secondary maths and subsequently achieved his Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Coupled with his extensive background in teaching at his local evening school and his engineering experience, Mohammed gained his current role as a Training and Development Senior Engineer at BAE Systems.

Working within the area of electronic warfare, Mohammed develops and delivers training to international customers.

"The support I received from my tutors was amazing and I felt like they went the extra mile for me. The skills I learnt at UCLan have been invaluable to me in my professional roles and generally in my daily life."
