Want to play competitive basketball in the BUCS leagues? Do you want to play basketball for fun? Our women's basketball programme is open to players of all levels.

UCLan's women's basketball club delivers professional and high-level basketball training. You'll be encourage to achieve your academic and athletic personal goals. You will also get the chance to gain experience at both amateur and professional basketball clubs.

Danny Byrne joins the team with a wealth of experience in basketball performance sport. Alongside his role at UCLan, he's the assistant coach to the Cheshire Phoenix. This is a professional basketball team based in Ellesmere Port, playing in the British Basketball League (BBL).

Individual and group training sessions

We offer a tailored training plan for each individual player. It focuses on technical skill development and player IQ (team and individual). Alongside this, you'll get group training sessions and regular video analysis (both individual and team). This is a complete package to help support and attract committed basketball players.

Where and when you'll train

All basketball training and matches take place at the Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre. Our multi-million pound, state-of-the-art, purpose built indoor facility is located at our Preston Campus. STFSC offers a range of activities from UCLan Students' Union sports clubs to instructor led classes and individual gym areas.
