Institute for Engineering and Technology Innovation (InETI)

Our institute empowers research and knowledge exchange in engineering and technology.

Our research and knowledge exchange supports the development and delivery of strategic goals in technological innovation and sustainability. Our research also supports regional growth through work of civic and societal benefit.

Centres in the Institute focus on addressing goals in a range of strategic technological areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, and Data analysis
  • Visual information capture, Representation, Processing
  • Ageing society
  • Clean growth
  • Digital manufacturing
  • Future mobility
  • Intelligent machines and maintenance
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Product design/Human factors
  • Resource efficiency and climate impacts.
  • Research

Many of our research projects are conducted in collaboration with and industrial or third sector partners
  • Knowledge transfer

Activities range from reducing the carbon footprint of local businesses to developing aids for de-mining operations
  • Public engagement
