Whilst working at the University, you'll have access to excellent rewards and benefits. You'll also have support to ensure you progress and develop in your role.
Overview of our benefits
Hybrid & flexible working
We operate a flexible working hours scheme for most support roles, as well as generous annual leave. A lot of our roles also offer hybrid working, with a mixture of on-campus and at home days.
A healthy work-life balance
We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance, which is why we have a generous annual leave allowance. Our academic colleagues get 35 days annual leave plus bank holidays and 4 additional discretionary days off over the Christmas period. For all other staff the annual leave entitlement is 30 working days with 4 additional discretionary days off over the Christmas period.
Help with childcare
You'll have access to our high quality, Ofsted regulated Pre-School and nursery to help with childcare. The Pre-School Centre at the University Central Lancashire is a high quality, nurturing, professionally run nursery. It is open for staff and students. The pre-school welcomes children aged from six months to four years and can accommodate up to 90 children.
Support for your wellbeing
You will have access to a range of support and resources to support your mental health and wellbeing, from trained counsellors to a faith and spirituality centre.
Meet our people
Leadership development
We deliver many learning and development opportunities and encourage colleague progression. When you work at UCLan you'll also get access to LinkedIn learning. LinkedIn Learning is an online educational platform that helps you discover key skills.
Staff networks
We have supported the creation of five equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) networks which all colleagues are welcome to join. At present these are the International Staff Network, LGBT+ Staff Network, Racial Equality Network, Staff Disability Network, and Women’s Network.
Discounted sports membership
We offer all colleagues a generously discounted membership of our sports facilities. For £9.99 a month you’ll have access to our Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre at our Preston Campus. Membership includes access to the gym, classes and fitness instruction.
Pension scheme
You'll be eligible to join an occupational pension scheme; for Professional Services colleagues this is offered by Royal London; for Academic colleagues, this is offered by the Teachers' Pension Scheme.
Discounted travel
We offer a range of travel discounts to colleagues to reduce your travel costs. We also work in conjunction with CycleScheme. We're also partnered with Tusker. Tusker is an environmentally friendly car-leasing scheme which will enable you to drive a 100% electric car for one monthly payment.
