Life in Preston

Student life

Wondering what life in Preston is like? Preston is a vibrant, multicultural city in the heart of the North West, making it the perfect place to live, work and play. This guide to Preston will help you make the most of our incredible city.

Living in Preston

Preston was named as the best city in the North West (Good Growth Index, 2023). There has been an increase in housing and jobs, which is good news for students. Our on campus accommodation is almost half the national average, starting at £85 per week. That means you've got more money to spend on the things you love. Just some of the reasons many students choose to live in Preston after they graduate.

Things to do in Preston

When you're not studying, there are lots of exciting things to do in Preston. Head into town and browse the shops - we have all your high street favourites, plus independent local businesses. Feeling hungry? Preston is a foodie's paradise, with cuisines from around the world. And when night falls, you can enjoy a drink at one of Preston's many bars and clubs.
