Sport Business Management

This module introduces you to a range of sports-specific marketing theories, applied in a number of sports and recreation contexts. It focuses on the application of academic theory and research to the world of contemporary sports marketing, giving you the opportunity to pursue your areas of interest and display both academic and practical marketing knowledge.

This module aims to understand the structures, policies, and processes of sport in the UK and internationally. You will examine issues that are impacting global sport and how critical thinking can aid sporting organisations in developing sport and achieving their priorities.

This module equips you to complete examination of operations management within sport business. It challenges concepts against a range of sport facilities and services in order to assess the effectiveness of their operation and explores sport legislation involved within sport and facilities and examine the relationship between sport and the law.

This module lets you examine the key features of financial analysis which are relevant to decision making within the sports and leisure industries and markets. You'll look at how important economics are in understanding sports markets.

This module aims to help you reflect and evaluate a range of personal, academic, and professional skills and attributes that are associated with working in the sport. You will independently manage and provide evidence of continuing personal, academic, and professional development for future career development.

In this module you'll have the chance to learn the skills, techniques and knowledge that are needed so that you can do an independent research project or dissertation within the area of sport. It'll will give you the theory and practical frameworks so you can take either quantitative or qualitative approaches to research, data collection and analysis.

This module will her you develop your intellectual ability with respect to critical analysis and conceptual thinking by undertaking an in-depth investigation into an area of interest relevant to your programme of study. This can be in one of three types of projects: a research dissertation project, consultancy project or enterprise project. It will provide you with the opportunity to apply and develop knowledge and critical understanding, research skills and competencies within the context of an identified area of interest.

The aims of this module are to develop your intellectual ability and conceptual thinking by undertaking an in-depth investigation into a topic of your choice. You'll develop your research skills and critical understanding to produce a dissertation, with the aid of supervisors, through research, analysis and presentation.
