  • Master of Finance and Management

Van is a Vietnamese student studying MA Finance and Management at UCLan. This is her experience of studying at the University and living in Preston.

"When I told my friends I was going to the UK for my master’s degree in Finance and Management, they all asked me: why the UK? In my mind, the only reason is that I want to experience the country which is famous for the education and especially the finance domain.

I have been in Preston for more than a month. Now, I am so in love with the lifestyle and study environment here. Looking out of my window, I figured out that almost every building nearby is built with bricks. The landscape is completely different from my home country.

At school I always use English for conversation because there are different nationalities in my class. Apart from lectures presented by lecturers, I have variety of external courses which are very useful for my course such as academic essay writing, oral presentation and so on. Moreover, I have personal tutor who can support me whenever I get stuck in study. That is totally different from my undergraduate in home country. However, through this pattern of study, I can enjoy brainstorming a lot."
