Hayley says: “I made some amazing friends at UCLan, took part in all the international trips, completed a fantastic work placement at Walt Disney World in Florida and learned about the tourism industry from a business perspective from supportive and knowledgeable tutors.”
Upon graduating in 2012, Hayley managed to bag a job with British Airways as a Cabin Crew member operating long and short haul flights. In November 2013, Hayley attained a secondment as a Cabin Crew Focus Group Coordinator, facilitating workshops to gather Cabin Crew feedback on any new product or service initiatives. In September 2014, Hayley was given the permanent position of Business Development Executive, responsible for devising the customer service strategy for Inflight Customer Experience.
Reflecting on her studies at UCLan, Hayley says: "My degree was paramount in attaining a job at British Airways as it provided me with tourism industry knowledge, employability skills and allowed me to gain invaluable work experience through my placement year.”
When offering advice to students looking to follow a similar path, Hayley says: “Take full advantage of the opportunities at UCLan. Go on work placement and utilise the knowledge available within the department to achieve your full potential.”
