Our degrees aim to create effective and confident managers that are needed in these ever-growing and thriving industries of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management. You’ll develop your employment profile through paid placement opportunities, live student projects and educational field trips.

Our Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management programmes are taught by internationally renowned experts with extensive first-hand industry experience. With this, you will learn to develop a critical understanding of wider society and how real-world developments, such as Brexit and COVID-19 affect organisations, so you would be able to apply this knowledge to real cases.

We provide countless opportunities to gain practical experience through optional paid 48-week work placements, shorter-term internships and work experience opportunities, and live student projects in partnership with local businesses.

You will be able to experience both national and international field trips to enhance your learning. Previous students have enjoyed trips to Cambodia and Mauritius, where students have taken part in industry related projects and experiences.

  • Our teaching staff belong to a number of professional bodies, eg Council for Hospitality Management Education (CHME), The Institute of Hospitality (IoH), Tourism Society, Association of Event Management Education (AEME). Association for Tourism in Higher Education (AFTE).

  • We plan and host careers events whereby employers such as the Dorchester Collection, DNATA Travel (Gold Medal), Manchester Arena – SMG Europe and Holiday Inn, are in attendance.
