Engineering

Discover

Engineering moves quickly – AI, automation, big data and more are developing at a rapid pace. The industry is always changing. There are lifelong careers in solving big problems like building cities that last and fighting climate change.

Engineers design, test and build machines, structures and processes using maths and science. You’ll get a rewarding career in a discipline dedicated to problem solving.

The devices we use to communicate, the processes that manufacture our medicines - they come from engineers. You'll use maths and science to achieve incredible things and find solutions to the world’s most complicated challenges. It’s an exciting industry that makes a big difference.

Discover the possibilities

Our courses are designed to make you employable. We aim to give you all the knowledge and skills modern employers are looking for. You'll get to use industry-standard facilities and will be taught academics with real-world experience of the subjects they teach.

We also make sure you’re supported every step of the way. Our dedicated student support team is always on hand to help - before, during and after your studies.

  • Facilities

Our £35-million-pound Engineering Innovation Centre (EIC) is the home of our engineering offering, including facilities like our flight simulators and advanced manufacturing labs.
  • Industry

We’ve built strong connections with key industry employers such as BAE and Rolls-Royce to give our students practical work experience opportunities.
  • Research

We have a team of research-active academics who regularly conduct research into things like the potential of graphene and nanotechnologies.
  • Connect

Whilst on our courses, you’ll hear from guest speakers, engage with live projects, and go on national and international site visits.
