Basketball Coaching & Officiating, Awards
These qualifications are perfect, whatever your level of experience, be it starting out as a coach or taking on the role of umpire for a team.
Netball Coaching & Officiating
Develop your coaching skills through one of the leading England Netball coaching qualifications. Learn the rules of netball, start to officiate or push yourself to new levels on the officiating courses.
Introduction to Coaching Football
This award is the first stepping-stone on the coaching pathway. It will provide you with an introduction to coaching the game and working with players from under 7 upwards.
Futsal Coaching, National Futsal Course
Develop an understanding of Futsal and the laws of the game on our National Futsal Course. You'll gain practical experience that you can apply to your own environments.
Hockey Umpiring
Our online Hockey Umpiring course is for anyone who will be umpiring 11-a-side games. On completion, you'll receive your Level 1 Unassessed Umpires Certificate.
Emergency First Aid at Work, QA Level 3 Award
The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is designed for individuals who wish to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace.
Multi Skills Level 2
This Level 2 course will help you to up-skill in the area of multi-skills development in sport.
England Rugby Coaching & Refereeing
Gain an extra qualification outside of your degree at UCLan by completing a Rugby Award. Additional qualifications look great on your CV when you are applying for jobs no matter what area it’s in.

Volunteer in your chosen sport and you could get help to fund your qualification. You could receive up to 50% off the course/qualification. All sports coaching and officiating courses will be considered, just complete the application form and you could be qualified very soon.
Your application will be reviewed by our team. They’ll consider your application based on how it will benefit the greater student population and develop the individual sports clubs within the University.

Book direct with the NGB (only some courses)
You can pay via cash or card at Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre or UCLan Sports Arena. You are also able to pay over the phone at UCLan Sports Arena on 01772 761000
Some courses can be completed in 1 day, some take place over a series of weeks/weekends. Visit individual course pages for further information.
You will receive an email as soon as your certificates are ready. You'll then be able to collect them at the Sports Centre or the Sports Arena. Some courses allow you to download your certificates.
You can cancel a course at any time up to 14 days after initially signing up without incurring any costs other than those of the services already provided. You must inform UCLan of your intention to cancel by email, letter or telephone before the end of the cancellation period.
If your course is being delivered at a UCLan site, car parking arrangements will be communicated and provided at no extra cost.
The Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre is our multi-million pound, state-of-the-art indoor facility located at the heart of our Preston Campus.
Students can use the Sports Arena facilities for free (membership and booking required), while staff and members of the public can use the Arena for a small fee.
