This module aims to provide you with the opportunity to develop and apply research methodologies in a specific area of interest within the field of professional practice and help build your confidence in conducting independent research activities. 

In this module, you'll gain advanced assessment and triage skills, particularly for assessment of the spinal regions. You'll develop a patient-centred, biopsychosocial approach for assessing and managing patients. You'll learn to maximise the outcomes for musculoskeletal disorder patients.

This module aims to introduce you to the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate clinical questions in health and social care.

This module aims to equip you with the knowledge, techniques, and skills for undertaking research projects and developing a critical understanding of research concepts. You'll then apply these skills to practical research problems within your area of practice.

This module promotes awareness of the professional’s mental wellbeing and resilience (including protective strategies) that could benefit both the professional and the wider workforce.

Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) working in healthcare is a core requirement in managing patients’ pathways, involving complex communication, leadership, and management skills. This module will enable you to critically evaluate and reflect on MDT working in your own sphere of practice and develop a deeper awareness of the benefits and challenges of MDT working in the wider workforce.

It is imperative that healthcare practitioners can evaluate health services to ensure that areas that require improvement are identified. A service evaluation is often the precursor to this, by reviewing the effectiveness of an existing service, and so identifying the areas that require improvement. This module will enable you to build on research skills and critique of academic literature, which will prepare learners for further study at MSc.

This module integrates the theory and practice of coaching and supervision of learners within a community healthcare setting. You will develop an awareness of the personal and professional perspectives of coaching and supervision. You will explore and integrate developments within relevant training curriculums and reflect these within your teaching and learning strategies with learners.

This module enables you to integrate the theory and practice of teaching consultation skills within your own area of community healthcare. You will be able to develop the curriculum for, and assess learners in, the development of consultation skills within a community healthcare setting. You will learn to give effective feedback to learners in the context of developing consultation skills.

This triple module will develop critical self-knowledge, leadership, confidence and ability to cope with difficult situations, clinically managerially and personally in Medical Practice.  You will consider and develop a range of change management skills so that you can not only cope with change but become an agent of change. You will critically apply, synthesise and transfer your understanding of management skills to practice to enhance your professional competence and personal development, reflect upon experiences in light of new understandings and consider alternative approaches. You will develop support mechanisms to use to increase your resilience and prevent burnout; plan your own professional and leadership development and develop a forward plan for your practice.

The module provides a period of professional experience in a ‘Health’ related setting and is intended to offer an opportunity for critical reflection of the Post Grad Professional’s (PGP’s) sphere of practice with specific focus to an area of interest.

This module offers an opportunity for critical reflection of a Postgraduate Professional’s (PGP’s) sphere of practice. With a specific focus on an area of interest developed during a period of professional experience in a health-related setting.

With the support of one of our tutors, you will bring approximately 5 days of CPD that you have undertaken during your clinical practice together as a reflective portfolio to gain postgraduate accreditation for this learning

This module will enable you to effectively appraise your achievement of CPD activities and to critically evaluate the impact of your CPD on your professional development within your own professional context, demonstrating value to employers and stakeholders.

The aim of this module is to train and accredit clinical and educational supervisors of Postgraduate Professionals (PGPs) in a primary care setting.

The changing context of medical practice incorporates group activity at operational management and educational levels. You'll develop expertise in group facilitation skills in working with uni-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary groups. In developing such expertise, you'll explore the complex nature of group dynamics and apply the learning to the practice of managing groups within the workplace.

Leadership skills over recent years have become a focus of development in the NHS and this module gives the opportunity of studying generic leadership skills for doctors in clinical practice. You'll examine your own leadership style and those of your colleagues, comparing them with existing theoretical models. You'll examine the advantages and disadvantages of various leadership models and consider which leadership style best matches your current situation.

This module will enable you to apply educational theory and the RCGP curriculum to teaching and assessment within your own clinical setting.

This module aims to develop new GP speciality trainers with the required knowledge, skills and attitudes to clinically and educationally supervise a GP speciality trainee (learner) in primary care.
