Our Illustration degree course can open doors to a wide variety of careers. From freelance illustration and design, to work in media and advertising, publishing and much more.

The images we see and take for granted in day-to-day life, from book covers to advertisements. Are nearly always the work of a highly skilled illustrator. If you have an enthusiasm for drawing and practical creativity of all kinds. Our Illustration degree course will help you hone and develop your design skills. Through the communication of ideas with pictures.

This is a studio-based course where you can make use of the very latest digital and printing facilities. You’ll get to unleash your creativity through drawing, painting, collage and print. As well as photography, animation, 3D materials or digital media – the choice is yours.

Through our links with industry and relevant work placements, you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the industry. So you’ll be well equipped to take your skills into the workplace.

What you'll do

  • You'll have opportunities to create live project work for industry connections. And professional organisations like Tate Liverpool. Past students have worked with greetings cards studios, galleries and design agencies.

We’ve designed our Illustration course so that you’ll be able to build up an impressive portfolio of work. Which will enable you to work as an independent artist or illustrator. 

A career as an Illustrator opens doors to a wide variety of creative pathways. Where you’ll get to work for and alongside graphic designers, advertising agencies, publishers and print and digital media.

Our graduates have gone on to work in animation, graphic design, fine arts, arts education and other creative careers.
