Hands-on Practical Occlusion

This hands-on, one-day course in practical occlusion will allow dentists to refresh and improve their practical skills.

This short course is suitable for dentists with an interest in restorative dentistry or prosthodontics. It is also suitable for dentists in postgraduate Tier 2 training who would like to improve clinical skills in occlusal assessment.

The course will cover how to apply appropriate occlusal techniques for manipulation of the jaw. It will also include jaw registration in RCP (retruded contact position) and facebow record.

You will refresh your knowledge about articulators and understand when to conform or re-organise occlusion. You will also learn about the principles of pre-prosthodontic planning.

The course gives you an opportunity to practise clinical skills in pairs, whilst under supervision. The practical part of the course will be supported by brief presentations.
