Mario Kkounnous

Mario teaches across all years at undergraduate level and attends any specialist needs for post graduate studies. He has released a short animated film that explores creativity forced upon by restrictions to budget, resources and time within education and is shown in film festivals across the globe.

As well as running the course, Mario is currently active in the industry and has worked with various clients as a freelance animator and artist for Hallman Animation Studios, Canada working on projects for their clients like NETFLIX. He has produced work for Brilliant Tree Media and recently completed preliminary work for Heartstone Odyssey Project where he pre-visualised scenes from the book for an adaption to the big screen produced by Barry Osborne (Lord of the Rings, Matrix and Mulan).
Mario recently finished his short animated film called the Ticket Maker. The film addresses a variety of issues that underpin the learning activity and professional practice for an individual working on an animation project within education. The film explores a hybrid of techniques that one person can use to help complete a project within their financial and technical limitations. The film is currently being shown in Festivals around the world and has been shortlisted for awards.
