Our degree focuses on the fundamental principles of electronic engineering and the programming skills necessary for modern embedded system design. It equips you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive in this rapidly evolving field.

- This MEng is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.
Electronic Engineering graduates are in greater demand than ever and career options include working in high-value manufacturing in the aerospace industry, in the Ministry of Defence or in research or development.
Careers in digital communications, consumer electronics, security and surveillance, as well as banking and commerce, are also open to graduates.

Opportunities for further study include a taught postgraduate MSc course in Digital Signal and Image Processing or Renewable Energy Engineering.
On the master’s level MEng course you’ll have the opportunity to work on a greater range of projects, which could include involvement with our partners and industrial collaborators. It provides a greater depth of study and you’ll develop transferable skills including teamwork, decision making, delegation, identifying and solving problems, and communication.
MEng (Hons) graduates are able to command higher starting salaries. The course allows you to specialise in areas including digital design, signal processing, real-time systems, neural networks and communications, shaping your studies to suit your career aspirations.
