Probation Health Trainer Evaluation

Centre for Criminal Justice Research and Partnerships

The key aims of the Probation Health Trainer implementation evaluation project were to explore the delivery and impact of the Probation-based Offender Health Trainer Implementation Project in Bury, Rochdale and Oldham, thereby generating learning to inform practice and research.

A mixed-methods approach was taken, the main methods being:

  • Interrogation and analysis of OHT data routinely collected using DCRS (led by UCLan)
  • Use of the ‘Portsmouth Ready Reckoner’ Health Trainer Assessment Tool (led by UCLan)
  • Construction of a small number of qualitative case studies (led by GMPT).
