The Language Academy at UCLan invites applications from qualified and experienced EAP Tutors to work on the following Pre-Sessional EAP programmes in the summer of 2024:

  1. 10.5 week Pre-sessional EAP Programme* (Online)

Date: 19 June – 30 August 2024, incl. 3 day induction

  1. 6.5 week Pre-sessional EAP Programme* (Online)

Date: 17 July – 30 August 2024, incl. 3 day induction

*staff may be asked to teach on other similar short EAP courses as appropriate 

Please state which programme you are applying for and your preference of online or face to face teaching on your application form. You must be available for the whole of that course, including the 3 day induction.

The posts are full time, fixed term contracts due to covering the specific timeframe of the programme, with contact hours spread over the week. In addition to teaching and preparing sessions, tutors will carry out marking and assessment, monitor students' progress and provide feedback and pastoral support. Tutors will also be expected to attend weekly meetings. 

The successful applicant should have a first degree, substantial EAP teaching experience in an academic environment, and hold relevant teaching qualifications including DipTESOL, DELTA or equivalent and Cert TESOL, CELTA or equivalent. Experience of developing teaching and learning resources is also essential. 

A flexible, innovative approach to teaching as well as administrative precision and a successful record of working to deadlines are also core requirements for this position.

Interview Date: The first interviews will be week commencing 22nd April 2024. Interviews will be held at regular intervals until the posts are filled. We may close the vacancy early if all posts are filled before the closing date.
