Rachel Mozley
Rachel teaches is Year 2 BA (Hons) Graphic Design Year Leader and Academic Advisor. She also teaches Year 3 Graphic Design.
Teaching for undergraduate Graphic Design – Teaching on all years across a range of modules and programmes, for print and screen-based media. Teaching for computer – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. Administrative and course development responsibilities – Course preparation: Lesson planning, writing briefs, assessment, marking and feedback. Organising the Degree Show, D&AD New Blood, other exhibitions. Developing industry links, liaising with industry on delivering ‘live projects’. Advise students on progression and career opportunities. Responsible for the course e-learning resources. Recruitment and Promotion – Interviewing students, course promotion visits to feeder colleges, Open Days and Experience Days, representation at UCAS Fairs, National Saturday Club and other events. Marketing and Promotion group – Promoting Student Award successes. Academic contact with Partnership Colleges.
After graduating from the BA(Hons) Graphic Design course at UCLan, she gained over 10 years of experience working as a Graphic Designer for well-known design agencies including The Chase Creative Consultants, The British Council and The Big Issue in the North as Head of Design. Rachel has taught on the BA(Hons) Graphic Design course since 2002 and has also taught on the BA(Hons) Digital Graphics and BA(Hons) Fashion Promotion courses at UCLan. Other Higher Education teaching experience in Graphic Design includes Wigan & Leigh College and Stockport College. Over the past 18 years, Rachel has gained success with her students in many national and international competitions, including the D&AD Student Awards, Roses Student Awards and the Little Chip Digital Student Awards.
