Support for vet students

We have a specialist package of Veterinary Medicine student support. It focuses on your general wellbeing and improving your skills as a professional to help with motivation.

Our three pillars of support

Clinical practice

We provide support during your placements. We help with communication skills so you can work well with others. This helps prepare you for your career.

Academic skills

We want you to thrive at university. We have programmes to help you with academic writing, presenting to groups and revising.

Personal development

We support you personally. We help with self-confidence, motivation, wellbeing, reflection and more.
We also have world-class university student support services for all students

Support for BVMS students

From Year 1 of our BVMS course, you’ll have a dedicated coach and mentor to help you during your time at UCLan.

Across the academic year (and during placements), you’ll take part in one-to-one sessions. These will help identify your learning and development opportunities. You'll also get some academic skills coaching and mentoring.
