Full Profile

Phil graduated from UCLan in 2002 after completing the BSc (Hons) Computing degree. Being an active member of the organising committee for Sign Circle, Phil has enjoyed the challenges that that brought. Currently he works in iSLanDS in the role of technician and has done so since 2006. His role is to provide face-to-face and online support to staff, students and projects which are part of iSLanDS. This support can range from working with the equipment in the multimedia sign language lab and instructing others in its usage, to coordinating the day-to-day operation of technical resources, managing the various data storage devices that are utilised by the researchers and staff, supporting staff who are developing online learning platforms. In his spare time, Phil likes to fiddle with the latest gadgets and this allows him to keep abreast of any new developments that may be of benefit to the multimedia sign language lab.
