Martin is a qualified solicitor and a former student of UCLan. He is the Course Leader for the blended and part-time law degree and a module leader for several modules. Martin won the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Innovation in Teaching and Learning in 2011 and he was nominated for the UCLan Student Union's 'Lecturer of the Year - Teaching Style' Award.
Martin dealt with a range of predominantly private client work in practice. He specialised in property law and conveyancing. Martin worked for a number of solicitors in the North West region that provided a wide range of services meaning that he has experience in wills and probate, crime, commercial property, matrimonial, litigation, personal injury and employment.
Martin teaches across a wide range of subjects and programmes, including the undergraduate degree courses, GDL, postgraduate Legal Practice Course and professional updating courses.
