Kumar is a postgraduate in oral surgery from Chennai, India. He has worked as an SHO and staff grade in oral and maxillofacial surgery for over five years. He joined UCLan in 2008 and is based in the dental education centre at Carlisle teaching students all aspects of clinical dentistry.

Full Profile

Kumar moved to the UK in 2003 following his postgraduate degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery and worked in West Lothian, UCL London and North Cumbria as a senior house officer. After passing the international qualifying exam in 2006 he has worked in community dentistry as dental officer. His role in the School of  Medicine and Dentistry is mainly based in Carlisle Dental Centre and he also works one session a week at the Department of Oral Surgery teaching students minor oral surgery procedures on patients. He has finished a postgraduate diploma in dental conscious sedation and is involved in supervision and clinical teaching of conscious sedation at the Carlisle DEC.
