Since obtaining her BA/BSc (Hons) Health Studies with Counselling at UCLAN in 2001 Donna has worked continuously in community-based roles, ranging from being a youth and community manager, a disability project lead to a Community Sexual Health Development Lead (CSHDL) for Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust. Donna’s community based working enabled her to develop effective collaborative working relationships with partner agencies and up until March 2016, Donna chaired the Sexual Health Operational Group meetings for Central Lancashire. During her role with LCFT Donna supported and mentored students and volunteers on community based sexual health placements.

Throughout her career Donna has developed and delivered training programmes and workshops for professionals and young people covering a range of health and well-being topics. These workshops covered a range of sexual health and wellbeing topics including: sex, sexuality and culture, sex and the law, sexual health in a digital world, sexual health and substance misuse to name but a few.

Since 2004 Donna has been a regular guest lecturer at UCLAN, delivering lectures on a variety of topics including the importance of Safeguarding in the Community, the sexualisation of young people and the complexities of partnership working.

In 2016, Donna joined UCLAN, as a Lecturer in Health and Social Care. During this time, she has been able to expand her knowledge and experience in teaching and also learn the university systems such as Blackboard, TurnItIn, Adobe Connect and more recently became a Champion for Starfish.

Donna joins the Sexual Health team with over 18 years teaching and community based working experience in Sexual Health.
