Industry-standard facilities
Industry-standard facilities, including our laboratories and Pharmacy Practice Suite provide a practical learning environment. As part of our programme of ongoing investment, we have spent over £500K equipping our state-of-the-art pharmaceutics laboratory facilities. We also have a £14-million purpose-built JB Firth Building.
Professionally accredited courses
Many courses are accredited and/or approved by professional bodies including the General Pharmaceutical Council; the Institute of Biomedical Science; the Health and Care Professions Council; and the National School of Healthcare Science as part of NHS England.
Patient-centred practice
We work in collaboration with Comensus, a service user and carer group who share their personal healthcare experiences with students. This integration enhances the students understanding and allows them to become more patient centred practitioners.
Inter-professional learning
Inter-professional learning sessions are important to courses such as MPharm. You’ll work alongside students from other professional healthcare programmes, eg Medicine and Nursing – graduating as a well-rounded member of the healthcare team.
Extra-curricular opportunities
We offer a range of opportunities away from the classroom including placements, field trips, attending industry conferences, and our Undergraduate Research Internship Scheme. You may also have the chance to gain experience in science communication and education via our Young Scientist Centre, the only facility of its kind at a UK university.
