Cold Feet and Fast Show star John Thomson among eight honorary award recipients
A well-known actor will be taking to the stage in Preston next week but it will be a role with a difference as he receives an honorary award from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).
John Thomson, known to millions as Pete Gifford in ITV’s Cold Feet, is one of eight people who will receive Honorary Fellowships from the city’s University.
The former All Hallows Catholic High School and Runshaw College student will be joined by 808 State founding member Graham Massey, Preston born Michelin starred chef Michael Wignall and Oscar winner Mark Crabtree OBE.
Animator Barry Purves, book expert David Roche, theatrical biomechanics academic Gennady Bognadov and children’s rights advocate Gerison Lansdown will also be conferred with the prestigious award.
From 10 July to 14 July, more than 4,000 students will don their academic caps and gowns and take to the stage of Preston’s Guild Hall for the prestigious Degree and Award Ceremonies. They will be watched by thousands of family, friends, distinguished guests and University staff.
