University to confer awards to David Moyes, Kris Radlinski MBE and author Jane Johnson
Sporting personalities are among the University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) new honorary awards recipients.
Football manager David Moyes, a long-time Preston resident, and Wigan Warriors legend Kris Radlinski MBE will join publisher and author Jane Johnson in receiving their distinguished educational awards in Preston’s Guild Hall next week.
The trio will join more than 1,500 undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate students, who will take to the stage to collect their awards in front of family and friends during four award ceremonies taking place between Monday, 4 December, and Wednesday, 6 December.
A former Preston North End player and manager, David is the current West Ham United manager and will receive the award to acknowledge the significant contribution he has made as a football manager and player.
Jane, who was responsible for publishing the works of JRR Tolkien and worked as a publishing director for HarperCollins, will receive her award to acknowledge the significant contribution she has made to the publishing industry.
Kris, a former rugby league full-back and now general manager of his hometown club, will be recognised for the significant contribution he has made to rugby in Great Britain and the support he has provided to the University.
