A top University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) academic has been rewarded for his international efforts with an Honorary Professorship from a Chinese University.
Dr Graham Baldwin, UCLan’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, was conferred the title by Professor Fu Guangsheng, President of Hebei University (HBU), in a recent visit.
Earlier this year UCLan established HBU-UCLan School of Media Communication and Creative Industries. The award has been granted to him in recognition of his dedication and commitment to this joint collaboration, which saw the School established within 18 months from the start of the venture.
Along with his Honorary Professorship, Dr Baldwin was invited to give guest lectures to staff and students during any future visit to Hebei.
The development of the joint School, which will receive its first cohort of students this September, is the most significant development for UCLan in China within the last 10 to 15 years. UCLan is one of the first UK Universities to gain such approval under the new Ministry of Education policies and brings significant reputational benefit for UCLan within China.
