Creative Dancers head to UCLan

16 February 2016

The work of three nationally recognised choreographers will be on show in Preston.

The creative work of three nationally recognised choreographers is being brought to the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

Transitions Dance Company’s triple bill showcases the next generation of contemporary dance performers from Trinity Laban with 12 MA students performing three brand new pieces from choreographers Dog Kennel Hill Project, Theo Clinkard and Ederson Rodrigues Xavier.

The event, which is part of a countrywide tour, will take place in Theatre One in the Media Factory on Thursday 25 February. It starts at 7.30pm, tickets cost £8 for adults and £5 for concessions and are available to buy online.

‘Fieldwork’, by Dog Kennel Hill Project, features music by Steeleye Span; Clinkard’s ‘My Dance, Your Touch’ draws upon research that outlines how physical touch affects our behavioural, cultural, emotional and biological development while Xavier’s ‘12’ is a physically demanding piece.

Since it was founded in 1982, Transitions Dance Company has aimed to bridge the gap between training and a professional performance career for graduate dancers. It aims to allow company members to gain practical experience of life in a touring dance company whilst simultaneously completing their MA Dance Performance.
