Games Design Studio

The Games Design studio offers a comprehensive range of PC workstations running many industry standard applications, along with a wide range of drawing tablets.

We also have dedicated VR kits, game consoles, and image capture. The local team of technical staff offer support and integration with other technical resources, such as Digital Print, 3D scan and print.

The spacious Games Design studios house a large number of workstation PCs running software packages such as Autodesk Maya and Mudbox, Adobe CC Suite, Z-Brush and Substance Suite, plus Construct3 and Unreal Engine. These are augmented by large format Cintiq drawing tablets, portable graphics tablets and flatbed scanners.

Various game consoles are available and VR is catered for by Vive and Meta (Oculus) systems. Outside of the Games Studio, students have access to local facilities such as 3D print, 3D scan, laser cutting, vinyl and fabric printing, all supported by our local technical team.

Availability

The studio is open 8.30am to 9.00pm (Weekdays).

Please note that this facility is used for scheduled teaching activities. The space may not be available for open access during these sessions.
