Oldham College delivers a number of higher education courses. It partners with UK universities and industry leaders to deliver a range of courses with excellent teaching at their heart at both Foundation Degree and full Honours Degree level.
Oldham College’s dedicated campus is located right in the heart of Oldham town centre and is just a few yards from Metrolink stops at Oldham Central and Oldham King Street.
The Higher Education (HE) centre first opened its doors in 2005. It boasts a range of excellent facilities including a Library and Resource Centre, Graduate Hub, and an Academic Success Centre, and it has been the place where thousands of local students have been helped to fulfil their career dreams.
All Oldham College HE courses are closely aligned to employers’ needs in Oldham and the Greater Manchester city region with real-world experience.
Each is designed with students’ future careers in mind and has a strong vocational focus in areas such as Children and Young People, Criminology, Computing, Health and Social Care, Performance, Photography, Construction, Business, Accounting and Financial Management, Games Art, Psychology and more. There is also a range of Teacher Education programmes for pre and in-service applicants.
Most students come from the Oldham borough and staff pride themselves on nurturing home-grown talent while also enabling them to make significant savings on costs like accommodation and travel by studying locally.
Oldham College also helps learners to fit their studies around family life and other commitments. Many courses are offered full and part-time and there is an excellent range of student support on offer, including access to Academic Development Lecturers, to ensure students get the opportunity to develop a full range of vital life and employability skills.

In 2019 Oldham College was awarded the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Silver award for excellent student outcomes. Judges recognised that Oldham College offers great physical and digital resources, plus a highly-regarded Graduate Hub to help students progress into meaningful and sustained employment.
Oldham College’s results in the latest National Student Survey (NSS) in 2020 were their best-ever. Oldham College is ranked in the top 10 per cent nationally – and the best locally – for student satisfaction and our overall score of 89 per cent is six per cent above the national average.
