Futureworks students talk about their experiences studying at a partner institution

Luke, Matthew, Jack and Igor all studied BA (Hons) Game Art through The University of Central Lancashire's partner institution Futureworks, here they talk about their experiences.

“We were all attracted to studying at Futureworks for a variety of reasons including the locality of the institution, that a lot of the academics teaching there were industry professionals and its strong reputation.

The atmosphere within the class always felt very relaxed and the tutors provided us with regular and clear feedback which was easy to understand and apply to our studies. It was easy to contact tutors if you needed help and they would always respond quickly.

BA (Hons) Game Art

We liked how the course was set out, everything was on Discord and it was very informal and easy for students to use. In the first year you learn the skills essential to Game Art, and then apply them into work in the second and third year. Developing our time management skills was an important requirement and allowed us to use our time wisely in regard to our coursework deadlines.

The facilities at Futureworks are excellent, with the PC’s all having good specs. Equipment was high quality and the process to book this out was very quick and straightforward, you could book whatever you needed 15 minutes before going to collect it. This really helped as it meant that you had everything you needed to produce the required work.

Now we’ve graduated we’re looking forward to applying for roles within the industry”
