Peter Short

Peter has a broad spectrum of international business experience that has been developed via senior management and leadership roles within a number of large corporations. He is a senior lecturer in the School with responsibility for enterprise and employability. He has significant experience of commercial business including technology, telecommunications and consumer goods sectors over more than fifteen years working in both national and international business environments.

Peter is the Course Leader for the online BA Business and Management Top-up by eLearning degree, he also lectures on a range of business and management modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is the school lead for Employability and Enterprise, working to identify and develop enterprise activities and to promote student employability and entrepreneurial skills.

Prior to working in the higher education sector, Peter worked for fifteen years across a broad spectrum of industries, holding senior director and management roles with multi-national companies including GEC-Marconi, Unilever and Diageo. He joined the University as a lecturer in early 2017 after spending four years managing international student recruitment and transnational education projects. Peter has experience of working in over thirty countries and has spent time living in both the USA and France. Since entering the Higher Education sector, Peter has worked with a number of different providers and awarding bodies across the North of England.
