Julie Allen

Julie teaches across a range of modules in Computing and is also involved in the assessment of both undergraduate and postgraduate student projects. In addition to her teaching role, Julie is the Quality Officer for Computing where she is heavily involved in ensuring assessment quality across our computing courses.

Prior to joining us in 2019, Julie was a primary school teacher specialising in computing. From this experience, she developed a passion for creating positive early experiences for children within computer science. She is currently actively involved in outreach work within schools and colleges and has a particular interest in finding ways to shorten the gender gap in computer science.
