Hayley is a Lecturer within the Children’s Pre-Registration Nursing Team at the University of Central Lancashire. She joined the team in March 2020 and has been involved in teaching, planning, assessing and supporting students alongside being an Academic Assessor and is involved in the Recognition of Prior Learning Process.
Hayley has been a Registered Children’s Nurse since 2010 and has worked in Paediatrics, Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing and Safeguarding. She completed the Diploma (HE) in Children’s Nursing in 2010, her Post-Registration Degree in 2019 and Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy qualification in 2021.
Since qualifying as Registered Children’s Nurse, Hayley worked for one year as a general paediatric nurse, 7 ½ years as a Neonatal Nurse (3 as Neonatal Sister), following this she worked as a Safeguarding Practitioner until gaining her role as Lecturer in Children’s Nursing at UCLan. Since joining the University, Hayley has completed her Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy qualification.
