Dr Emmanuel Nkeleme
Emmanuel teaches undergraduate and postgraduate modules in facilities management, asset and property management and construction management across different cohorts of students. Emmanuel also supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research.
His expertise is in facilities/construction management, building services and the use of active learning strategies and digital technologies to impact and enhance students' experience and success. He has a vast teaching and research portfolio, as well as a strong academic and industry background in Facilities /construction project management from his degree, master's, and PhD qualifications.
As a lecturer, Emmanuel contributes his expertise in the lecture delivery of some modules, academic advisor to the facilities management students, and student support. He is an active team member of various research groups with research focus areas cutting across major themes in the built environment such as: Building Information Modelling (BIM), Sustainable Energy consumption of HVAC, Asset Life management and sustainable construction. Emmanuel is research active with over 50 publications in highly reputable journals.
Since graduation, Emmanuel has worked in various institutions across various countries and in various capacities. He worked as a project supervisor for a firm of building construction and facilities management for two years. Subsequently, he fulfilled the role of a lecturer/Course Adviser and Panel member for the validation and approval of academic programmes at The Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) in Nigeria for over 6 years. He worked collegiately to develop modules and programmes which were successfully (re)validated by professional, statutory and regulatory bodies.
After obtaining his doctorate, Emmanuel held a research fellowship position at Nelson Mandela University, Port Elizabeth South Africa where He successfully designed and undertook several impactful, industry and academia-based research for two years, before joining us as a lecturer in Construction.
