Dr Hazel Partington
Senior Lecturer
School of Health, Social Work and Sport
Hazel is part of our research team for two EU and UKRI funded projects: PREPARED which aims to develop an operational ethics and integrity framework. It safeguards key ethical values, supports a rapid and effective research response to crises and improves overall pandemic preparedness; and iRECS which aims to improve research ethics expertise and competencies to ensure reliability and trust in science.
Hazel has taught health, leadership, research, ethics, and sustainability modules across several MSc programmes. She has also supervised Msc dissertations.
In addition to her current research work, Hazel is a supervisor of doctoral candidates in both health and education projects. Hazel has a long-standing interest in online learning. Her own doctoral research highlighted the transformational potential of online programmes.
Hazel was course leader for the innovative online MSc Sustainability, Health and Wellbeing from 2017-2022. Her experience in online learning has led to presentations at several conferences, publication of a book chapter on the topic of Transformative education for sustainability: a model of online learning, and an invitation to contribute to HEFCE's Steering group panel for the development of postgrad student survey (PTES).
