Dr Adebayo Omotosho
Adebayo has years of experience in teaching and research in Higher Education. He has spent the last three years of his career as a researcher developing toolchains for detecting memory attacks in embedded/IoT devices. He is keen to help students improve their cybersecurity skills.
Adebayo joined us in 2022 as a lecturer and is currently the module leader for a BSc (Hons) Cyber Security module - Information Security Management. He is also taking part in a BSc (Hons) Computer Science module - Introduction to Software Development. He has published in the embedded systems track of the ACM Symposium for Applied Computing, Journal of Applied Security Research, and so on.
Adebayo's academic journey began in 2010 when he joined the Bells University of Technology, Nigeria, since then he has worked with a couple of other Universities in Nigeria.
In 2019 he was a visiting researcher at the Chair of Internet Technologies and Systems, Hasso Plattner Institute, Germany.
From 2020 to 2022 he was a postdoc at the University of Potsdam and the University of Passau, Germany in Secure Software Engineering. During this period, he worked on a German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) project- "Projekt MORFEUS", which was an industry-partnered project on embedded system resiliency
He currently conducts research in the area of secure software for IoT/embedded systems and has taught and supervise M.Sc/Ph.D. research in a similar area.
