Aims
The aim of this study is to look at how participation in leisure changes for people who have experienced a stroke. We will invite people to take part in the study while they are in hospital or attending their first TIA (transient ischaemic attack) clinic appointment.
People who agree to participate will be asked to complete two questionnaires, one at baseline and then a second questionnaire 6 months after their TIA/stroke. The Shortened Nottingham Leisure Questionnaire is the primary measure for the study. A sub-sample of participants, who return both questionnaires, will be invited to take part in a telephone interview to discuss in greater detail their responses in the questionnaires.
Lancashire Clinical Trials Unit will recruit to the study from up to 20 sites over a 12 month period to achieve a sample of 3240 participants.
