Dr Tessa Rockett
Dr Rockett is a campus day facilitator. She also works as a GP in the local Blackburn area. She has been working for us since 2019 based at our Burnley Campus.
Dr Rockett's role involves teaching year three students two days a week. She works amongst a group of other facilitators. They deliver small group teaching, including case-based learning, clinical reasoning and narrative-based medicine.
Her role also includes acting as an academic advisor for a group of year three students. Throughout the academic year, she supports them and guiding their portfolio work.
Dr Rockett studied medicine at the University of Manchester, graduating in 2009. She went on to complete her foundation training at Royal Bolton Hospital. This was prior to specialising in general practice, training in East Lancashire. She qualified as a GP in 2015. She then went on to work as a GP in the Blackburn area and also as a Hospice Physician at East Lancashire Hospice. She continues to work in these roles alongside her post here.
