Jonathan Kemp

Jonathan teaches on the Media Production BSc and Television BA undergraduate degrees. Jonathan has a particular interest in Filmmaking and Cinematography. He is an award winning writer/director of short films, and has published a book on Cinematography on the 'Focal Press' label by Routledge entitled, 'Film on Video - A Practical Guide to Making Video Look Like Film'. In recognition of his contributions to teaching, Jonathan is an Associate Member of the Higher Education Academy.

Jonathan teaches across all three years of the Media Production BSc and Television Production BA programmes, with a particular emphasis on Practical Camerawork, Filmmaking, Video Post-Production and Audio Production.

Jonathan is a Filmmaker with a variety of professional experience as a camera assistant, camera operator and lighting cameraman. As well as this, he has a lot of professional experience in post-production. He has written and directed short films that have won awards and been screened at international film festivals. He has also worked as a video technician at Lancaster University.
