Catherine graduated from the University of Manchester with a Master of Pharmacy degree. She started her career as a junior hospital pharmacist at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. After completing her clinical diploma, Catherine became a specialist hospital pharmacist. Catherine completed various specialist rotations at the trust. This included a rotation in medical education. This is what inspired Catherine into teaching and academia. She then joined UCLan as a Teacher Practitioner.
