Full Profile

I have a strong belief in people. We are living in a time of great change, yet with such change comes great opportunities and responsibility. Developing ourselves and others can and will make a difference. I won't let a day go by without having a positive engagement with my students, clients, family and friends. I am sure all of us have seen the amazing benefits of having been part of developing someone to their full potential.

I have had quite a ride so far. I have managed to pick up four degrees and I am working hard to complete a Doctorate in Elite Performance specialising in Intercultural team work and leadership.

I am a qualified Master coach, BPS accredited, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I am also accredited in Belbin Team Roles and the Richard Lewis cultural model. I hold qualifications in delivering MBTI, 16PF, amongst others. My eldest son told me that he was more impressed with my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

I have lived and worked in Japan, Greece, USA, Australia and the UK. I have travelled extensively, and enjoy working and holidaying in Spain. I speak conversational Spanish, my children are virtually bilingual, and I also speak 'survival' Japanese.

To be honest these experiences pale into insignificance when compared to being a dad; now that's a positive learning experience!

Currently I work in the field of Intercultural Communication, coaching, employability, and Optimum leadership/ team building training. I also have a fascination in workplace psychology.

I am published, and have presented papers across the globe. I have also found time for some significant grant capture.

My official title is Principal Lecturer in Employer Engagement. This brings me into contact with companies from across the globe. I also deliver seminars on our fantastic BA (Hons) and MA programmes in International/ Intercultural Business Communication.
