Views sought on new University square
Dates and venues announced for public consultation
The University has released the image ahead of a series of planned public consultation events taking place between June 10 - June 22.
It shows the proposed £60 million New Square, which includes a remodelled Adelphi roundabout and the construction of a new public space, drawing together the University and the City.
The space will be used by local businesses and residents, as well as playing host to a variety of cultural events once it is built.
Also visible on the image is the winning design for a new student centre, which was selected following an international competition organised by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Now, UCLan is calling on members of the public to have their say on the square and the student centre, part of the University’s £200 million Masterplan to create a world-class campus which integrates seamlessly with the rest of the city.
"Consultations are an excellent way for members of the public to speak to the team behind the project, ask questions and give feedback which will help to shape the scheme."
Michael Ahern, Chief Operating Officer at UCLan, said: “A key consideration throughout all stages of the Masterplan has been to ensure the City and the region benefit from the opportunities the project will create.
“We’re listening to and working with our neighbours and the wider community, and have already held a number of successful events with various user groups.
“Consultations are an excellent way for members of the public to speak to the team behind the project, ask questions and give feedback which will help to shape the scheme.”
