Further events planned
More than 100 people enhanced their digital marketing skills at an event held at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) to help the region’s businesses achieve growth.
Marketing and More with Google was held in association with Digital Lancashire and two of the University’s business support initiatives, Propeller and the Lancashire Forum Creative.
Amanda Walls from the Google Digital Garage, a free service which helps individuals and businesses increase their knowledge of the digital landscape, delivered presentations and shared an insight into how digital marketing can benefit businesses.
The first of two sessions was aimed at students and recent graduates, providing an overview of what makes a successful digital marketing plan, in addition to networking opportunities.
The second was aimed at helping businesses use Google to its full potential, using Google Analytics to analyse website data and enhance marketing strategies.
There were also presentations from Mark Thwaite, Head of Communications at Digital Lancashire, and Laurie Smith, Programme Director at the Lancashire Forum Creative.
"As I am in the early stages of setting up my own business, it was interesting to discover how digital marketing can help and build your business, and how Google Garage can assist you with this process"
Hugh Roberts, Project Manager at Propeller, said: “The event was very successful and everyone who attended took an element away with them that they could make use of in their business. We look forward to the next session and would encourage any businesses looking for advice or insight into how they can utilise digital marketing to benefit their organisation to come along.”
David Barker, Director of Liminal Events, attended the event and said: “I was extremely impressed with the Google Digital Garage, especially the level of detail both seminars provided and the expert delivery from Amanda.
“As I am in the early stages of setting up my own business, it was interesting to discover how digital marketing can help and build your business, and how Google Garage can assist you with this process. I was personally interested in knowing more about digital ads, which was covered in the seminars.”
